My Model Buildings Part 1

Part 1

I have been making model buildings out of used squash bottles; I have been filling them up with water and wrapping them up with kitchen paper and sellotape and painting them. Obviously I always make sure that I put the lid on the bottle tight enough so that it doesn't leak. The first part of this section features six of my model buildings with their names being displayed above them. Three of them have been photographed in my front room with my digital camera, and the other three have been photographed on the back of my bed in my bedroom. I'm sorry if there is too much sunlight shining on some of them.

The 20 Bars Tower

The 27 Pubs Funhouse

The Angel & Snake 20 Bars Tower Pub

The Shoulder Of Mutton 10 Bars Pub

The Fox & Hound Ten Bars Funhouse Pub

The Donkey & Ogre 10 Bars Tower Pub

Two of my six models above this paragraph (The 20 Bars Tower and The 27 Pubs Funhouse) are now on display at this pub near Mersea called 'The Pelden Rose' where I'm a regular customer. The name for the model building above this paragraph 'The Angel & Snake 20 Bars Tower Pub' is a homage to Blondie's original band name 'Angel & The Snake'. Presumably the singer Debbie Harry wasn't the snake end. 'The Angel & Snake' sounds like a good enough double barrel name for any pub in itself really.

Part 2

This next model building having been mentioned in this part is called 'The Rainbow 7 Pubs Tower'. It's got seven floors including the ground floor, and it consists of the seven colours of the rainbow for each floor (from bottom to top) violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange, and red) hence its name. It's got seven pubs in it, one pub on each floor. Below this paragraph is a picture I have taken with my digital camera of 'The Rainbow 7 Pubs Tower' on top of my then new bed in my then recently redecorated bedroom.

If such place does exist at any time in the future, it probably wouldn't be as significant as for example, Liverpool Cathedral, but having said that, it might be even better than the clock tower in Skegness. Below this paragraph is a list of names for the seven pubs inside 'The Rainbow 7 Pubs Tower' with each of its seven colours representing what they are. All seven of its pub names are double barrel names just like some pubs do have.

Ground floor (violet) = Pub number 1 - The Pelican & Seagull

First floor (indigo) = Pub number 2 - The Starfish & Lobster

Second floor (blue) = Pub number 3 - The Penguin & Seal

Third floor (green) = Pub number 4 - The Dolphin & Stingray

Fourth floor (yellow) Pub number 5 - The Pirate & Fairy

Fifth floor (orange) Pub number 6 - The Beach & City

Sixth and top floor (red) = Pub number 7 - The Mermaid & Lighthouse

Part 3

The other model building that is mentioned in this section and I have made out of another used squash bottle is called 'The Crab & Dragon Ten Pubs Funhouse', and as I say it's got ten pubs in it hence its name. It's got ten floors including the ground floor, and it's got ten colours, one colour for each floor (from bottom to top: yellow, sky blue, crimson red, purple, orange, green, brown, turquoise, pink, and dark blue). Below this paragraph is a picture of 'The Crab & Dragon Ten Pubs Funhouse' on the back of my bed with my digital camera on the day of its completion. Again, I'm sorry if there will have been too much sunlight shining on a part of it. Again, I've painted the windows grey so that it looks like a funhouse in the daytime.

Again, if such place was to exist in the future, I wouldn't say it would be significent as somewhere like Westminster Cathedral for example. Below this paragraph is a list of names for the ten pubs inside 'The Crab & Dragon Ten Pubs Funhouse' with each of its ten colours representing what they are. All ten of its pub names are double barrel names just like some pubs do have, and are homages to twenty great bands of the past, every one of which have got Wikipedia links for anyone reading this bit on my website should they want to click on any one of them should they want to find out more about them.

Ground floor (yellow) = Pub number 1 - The Hawkwind & Marillion (a homage to two great bands of the past Hawkwind and Marillion

First floor (sky blue) = Pub number 2 - The Pilot & Sailor (a homage to two great bands of the past Pilot and Sailor

Second floor (crimson red) = Pub number 3 - The Styx & Speedwagon (a homage to two great bands of the past Styx and REO Speedwagon

Third floor (purple) = Pub number 4 - The Eagle & Genesis (a homage to two great bands of the past The Eagles and Genesis

Fourth floor (orange) = Pub number 5 - The Lindisfarne & Supertramp (a homage to two great bands of the past Lindisfarne and Supertramp

Fifth floor (green) = Pub number 6 - The Foreigner & Journey (a homage to two great bands of the past Foreigner and Journey

Sixth floor (brown) = Pub number 7 - The Smokie & Boston (a homage to two great bands of the past Smokie & Boston

Seventh floor (turquoise) = Pub number 8 - The Korgi & Tourist (a homage to two great bands of the past The Korgis and The Tourists

Eighth floor (pink) = Pub number 9 - The Police & Madness (a homage to two great bands of the past The Police and Madness

Ninth and top floor (dark blue) = Pub number 10 - The America & Asia (a homage to two great bands of the past America and Asia

Part 4

This next section on my website features three other model buildings I have made out of used squash bottles. They are pubs with eight bars in them, one bar on each floor, and their names are homages to titles of songs by Jimi Hendrix. Below this paragraph are pictures of them that I have taken with my digital camera on the back of my bed in my bedroom with their names being displayed above all three of them. Although you can see their names on them, I fear they wouldn't look visible enough.
